道冲，而用之或不盈。渊兮，似万物之宗。
挫其锐，解其纷，和其光，同其尘。湛兮，似或存。
吾不知谁之子，象帝之先。

Translation
The Way is empty, yet when used, it never runs dry. Deep and vast, it seems the ancestor of all things. It blunts sharp edges, untangles knots, softens bright lights, and merges with the dust. Clear and still, it appears to exist. I do not know whose child it is; it seems to have been before the Lord.
